this is the trouble i would have on fitting to under neath roof, i'm currently thinking of going through roof tiles, via scaffold pole in loft. i think i mentioned this earlier in forum. 90cm iss dish stab hh motor, and i think its a 43cm sky mesh dish.. oh lnb is a twin mti high gain..... |

I would be fairly happy to say that the larger dish in the distance is too far away to be causing you any problems, but the stack closest looks like it will (your 'due south' chimney), and maybe the next one along too.
It really does look like an awkward property to get a motorised dish on with those pesky chimneys

its strange, dish is currently facing hotbird and if i go round to the right( towards obstructions) i pick up 10,7,and 5 east ok.
5 east is literally slightly left of that middle stack. if i go to the left, where theres more chance of clearer sky, only get verts on 16 east,19 east spot on,as is 28 east. i'm wondering if the 3rd chimney along is playing havoc, with 16 east,as that dish in the background,as stick says is too far away too cause any interference....... |

Thats a nice tidy install sevengoals. Keep a careful eye on the mounting bracket - if they are made of cheap metal that type soon start to bend after a few gales

![]() I'll certainly be "on my toes" when the first real storms come through. I helped carry the stuff into the attic and i got a good chance to check out the quality of the material supplied. Looked and felt fine. the Sat man is a family friend of my neighbours so I'm pretty sure he did the right thing by us. but you never know... |

Personal recommendation is always good.
If you are concerned you could always tether it to the top & bottom of the stack with guy wires. If it came adrift all its going to do then is fail safe. You would destroy the dish as it thrashed around against the stack, but its not going to go sailing off down the road.....

A very neat install. Looks good.
If the mount does get tweaked by the wind then you'll notice a sudden deterioration in your reception, so you should get advanded warning of any trouble. Looks a nice solid chimney stack, and the mount is bolted across three courses of bricks.
