Default High Definition - a beginners guide, from Eutelsat

Welcome to the new HDTV section.

We're going to be sick of hearing about HDTV before the year is out, but I for one actually think it's a bigger development in TV technology than even the hype can capture.

Please post up any decent info you find on HDTV as it relates to the satellite world, especially those hard to find FTA HD channels testing ahead of the World Cup

Those decent chaps over at Eutelsat have produced a flashy-looking guide to HDTV, and seeing as it carries a heavy Eutelsat advertising message I'll post a copy here in the true spirit of promoting the Eutelsat brand

It's a bit 'glossy', but provides a good overview for the beginner.

Using the search string "HD" in the Kingofsat database:

http://www.kingofsat.net/en/find.php...D&standard=All

brings up these HDTV channels on the birds above Europe

Hd will allow 3 channels to be broadcast in the space previously taken up by one - interesting they [original article] should note that rather than possiblities of even better reception - ie making reception 100% regardless of conditions?

But I KNOW NOTHING!!!
