"No satellite signal is being received" message on your Pace 2500?
You are not alone. This is a very common problem. 99 times out of every 100, it's a failed tuner module. If you can handle a screwdriver and a soldering iron though, here's a simple DIY fix. What do you have to lose? It'll cost more to have repaired than to replace it with a second-hand one... 1) Remove (by de-soldering) the old tuner. The back panel of the STB needs to come off. Disconnect from the mains, and then unscrew and pull off the lid. Disconnect all the cables, making a careful note of where they came from. Remove the screws and hex nut on the LNB input socket, then the screws holding the main board. Remove the main board. The ZIF module can then be de-soldered from the main board taking care not to damage the print! This is best done with a de-soldering pump or solder wick. 2) Get an exchange tuner from these nice folks: http://www.mces.co.uk/Offers.htm 3) Re-solder it in place and, as they say in all the best guides, re-assembly is the reverse of the above procedure (or something like that). Attached are some pics which may help. Good luck!
