Default Technomate card reader

Out of the box most of your your shiny new Technomates dont have any card reader fitted. If you prise the front panel off the riight hand side of the receiver(carefully!) you find its just a blanking plate with nothing behind it.

Technomate have now addressed this problem and there is an after market card reader available for DIY fitting.

Edited for annoying typos

Default Re: Technomate card reader

... and here's a pic.

£30 at wizardsatellite.

This addon is for the Technomate TM-1000 D, TM-1000 CI and TM-1600 CI receivers.

It allows you to upgrade your FTA receiver to take any card. The Technomate TM-1500 CI+ is the only one of the 1xxx series to have a card reader, so if you've not made your purchase yet, think about whether you might need one in the future.

For the record, I've never dealt with Wizard, but I've heard both good and bad things about them.
