Mmm, very very interesting
![]() Sounds like a non-Linux version of the Dreambox DM8000, and the link to the Lyngsat group of sites/companies is also intriguing. I assume it's them that are behind the production of the machine? Thanks good2talk, you are our eyes and ears in the HD receiver-launch world ![]()

€359 will get you one of these very interesting HD set top boxes from the very well respected dish manufacturer Kathrein.
I'll let you check out the spec yourself, but it's a proper DVB-S2/MPEG-4 receiver available in both black and silver varients. On sale now from the larger German e-tailers. Oh, and it's Linux based ![]()

If Kathrein can do an HD Linux STB with Ethernet and have it HDMI/HDCP certified, then it bodes well for Dream.
Here are the specs for those without Adobe Reader ![]()

Not that I know of (yet, anyway).
A brand new receiver is going to take at least a few months before any decent software is written and tested for it. If 'the scene' takes a shine to it (or there is some financial backing for a development project) then you never know. We can only hope ![]()

Whilst they say it is linux based operating system, I dont think the base system is open architecture. The system is limited to 4000 channels so not much good for motorised sytems. Also only diseqc 1.0?
