Hi hatice, welcome to the forum.
I have moved your post so that it is a new topic, so you should get direct replies not mixed in with dogsbelly's question.

Thats ok hatice, we are here to help. If you are answering someones post, it is fine to just add a reply but if you want to introduce a new query just open up a new thread/topic. They dont cost anything.
![]() Ok now regarding your query, what do you already have and are you based in or around Turkey. Obviously your location will determine the sort of signal you will get and hence influence the answers.

i live in UK in Berkshire area, try to search on the internet for satellite dishes etc, i came across this web site i thought , somebody could help me to get correct equipment.i realized that i need to buy four devices a dish, a receiver, and lcn(i am not sure what is this but i think they put behind the dish to get signals). i did some resarch apparently if i get the dish and receiver from a shop plus installation they told me that that would cost me a small fortune of between 350 and 400£ . of course as a student i thought i should get some info on the net.there is vast amount of info and try to get right one. i thought buying separately and try to install by my self might help me to save some money.i am thinking to spend 150 £, i found out that turksat send free air signals. i just would like to have four channels ATV , kanald, showtv, and startv.
thanks hatice |

Cool. Now we have plenty to work with
![]() Yes, all the channels you want are on Turksat, which is located at 42E. Kanal D, Star TV and Show TV are unfortunately on the East beam: http://www.satcom.gov.tr/t2a_dogu.htm Which is not easy from the UK. Some of the ATV channels are on the S1 beam, which is a little easier: http://www.satcom.gov.tr/t2a_s1.htm You should be able to receive these with a 1m dish OK. You can see which channels are Free To Air, and on which beam they are at Lyngsat, here: http://www.lyngsat.com/turk42.html A good FTA receiver, like the Technomate will do the job. Your other problem might be aligning your dish to 42E, as it's quite low in the Sky. Have a look at the links I've posted, and think about what you want to do next. STICK

There are at least 4 FTA Turkish channels on the Digiturk sat at 7E
Have a look at this link. http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/digiturk.html The transmissions are on the Europe B beam which means they are not so strong in the UK. There are several links from the above link that explain what is available but being a thick Brit, I don't understand a word of Turkish other than 'delight'.

You need to understand some basic stuff about what you've asked for.
1) None of the channels you have mentioned are available in the UK without a HUGE dish, and I mean unreasonably huge. 2) There are some other, different free Turkish channels available at Turksat 42E 3) There are also a few free Turkish channels available at 7E. Reception of both 42E AND 7E would require TWO dishes, or a motorised dish. 4) You must study the lyngsat links we have given you to work out what you can receive, based on the fact that you can't receive what you wanted to. FTA (Free) channels are listed in light yellow, and the beam is noted in column 8. You can only get "Wide" and "S1" beams. All advice and decisions can only be based around what you want to receive. Any receiver will do the job for the Free To Air (FTA) channels that you CAN receive (see 2 and 3 above). I would recommend a Technomate TM-1000D to receive them. As far as a dish is concerned, as I have said, a 1m diameter dish like the Triax TD110 should do it. Any decent Universal LNB will do. An Invacom or MTI Blue line will do nicely. You must have a clear view of the appropriate part of the sky to receive any satellite signal. This is the hardest part, and if you're not sure how to do it, it will take a lot of reading or an expensive professional to help you - but then your costs start to rise as you have said. You may also find some useful info over at http://www.turkeyforum.com/satforum/ Hope this helps. STICK
