Driver will be fine.
Which loader are you using? Did you have to change the com port settings? What were they before? Do you have a second com port? Does windows say there are any problems with the com port, or that it's working normally? What exact error message is the loader giving you? Can you upload a screen print?

using darkman tm 7000 smiley face loader. opened darkman patch with winrar, extracted file.windows cannot find any problems with com port 1.
when i try the 1000 series, for the other technomate (1500ci) its a different loader (version 1.8), it says in a blue box, with com 3 at top of blue box(i'll try and upload) "connect your receiver and turn it on..................exit" i then switch on receiver by flicking switch at back. after a couple of mins, nothing happens so i click the exit button. why it says com3 at top of box i don't know.this is a usb connection on the back of the pc according to device manager. the 7655 2va is the same message. and i havn't got loaders and patches mixed up. i'm 100% certain its a port problem. but no method of curing or configuring at the moment. don't have the knowledge...... ![]() thanks for your help, i'll get there eventually..... |

Do you have more than one physical serial port at the back of the computer?
Don't use the wrong (TM1000) loader - you could kill your 7655 forever! Are you still getting the 'turn stb on' message with the 7000 smiley-loader? Have you disconnected all the other cables from the 7655 before you turn it on? Which 'STB Type' radio button have you tried on the loader? Both? I think you may just have a serial cable and not a null-modem cable. Did you say it came with the box? Do you have the tools to test the pin connections? That's the only way to know which cable you have. I can tell you which pin should connect to which if you can test it. Have you tried the ITLINK35 loader with your reconfigured COM port 1? STICK

hi stick, what tools would i need to test cable.
i 'll give you brief description, 5 pins with 4 pins below with one screw either side, on both ends .looks like it inserts inside the same shaped connection on back of pc/satellite box. on the loader i notice on your example the stb is marked with a dot. mine is lsi. no luck with trying on a different loader. maybe its the lead. thanks for your help. ![]() |

You can click on the button next to STi5518 to change the chipset. STi5518 is the default, but I don't know which chipset your box uses. :? Try both.
You can test the pin connections on your cable with a test meter, or even a battery/wire/bulb. It should connect up like the one attached, courtesy of Klona (http://www.klona.4t.com/v3.1/guide_eng/dbox-howto.htm) ...or just buy a new one for about £3, like: THIS STICK

hi stick, cable is correct null modem.
took it in technomate shop on way home from work. he hooked up to pc, and it detected the darkman patch on one of there sat receivers. he seems to think my com port 1, is assigned to something else. is there an easy way to configure com port 1, or do i have to remove a program which is using it. i don't really understand, as the 1st time i've used the null modem cable has been in that port. nothing else has been plugged in to pc since i've had it. |

successssss
had mobile phone software with blue tooth. deleted this program and moved dongle, apparently this holds a com port open even when not in use. deleted phone software and sucessfully patch the 7655. i also changed to com port 2, so if any windows xp users are struggling delete some com port software. and try a few others. |
