stick, micha thanks for replys.
micha, 7655 technomate. with latest darkman patch. would it make any difference, if i changed to 1500ci, this isn't currently connected, as i'm hoping to connect weekend after accquiring twin output lnb. i don't get brilliant quality on cyfra on hotbird, about 40-45% , i wondered if this is typical. if people can let me know what there getting percentage wise on some of the tps on satellites, i'll have a rough idea on how fine tuned i am. astra at 19.east is best quality, taquilla at 88-90%. is digitalalb, notoriously a weak signal... and whats the typical fine tune quality that most receive for this tp. thanks for any responses./ ![]() |

stick,
digitalb is in my tp list, and the frequencies are the same as you've posted. should i change my lnb settings, i'm on lo high 10600, lo low 9750. sounds like a stupid question i know, but i adjusted these and got ART on hotbird, when i wasn't originally receiving this channel... |

Hi chavslav,
your receiver is fine, it was just older receivers that had problems with DigiAlb. You should be getting 70-80% signal on TVSH-SAT, and around 70% on DigiAlb, if you had it set up correctly, as you have such a strong signal on Astra1, I can't believe your arc is out enough to give no signal on 16E, a satellite so close, so I think it might be a problem with your receiver not locating the satellite properly. I think you may need to manoeuvre your dish, using the Technomate menu, to get these satellites, this is what it says in the Technomate 8000 instructions, which should be the same for your receiver. If possible use TVSH Sat 12658 V 4883, to get the signal. As I do not know which type of motor set up you have I've posted two of the main ones used, please choose the one that is appropriate. How to Install Diseqc 1.2 Motorised Turn on the receiver. In Main Menu, go to No.3 Reset (Factory Default) and press OK three times. In Menu Select, choose Main Menu and press OK and wait until you see a larger Main Menu appear. Then use >> and go to the Installation menu (DO NOT USE EASY INSTALLATION). Then go to (No.2 Satellite Setup) and press OK. Select No.2 Satellite System Setup and use << or >> to select Hotbird and press OK. In Satellite System Setup menu, go to No.4 Motor Setting. In Satellite System Setup, use >> to select Diseqc 1.2, then press OK on Diseqc 1.2. The menu will change to Motorised Diseqc 1.2 menu. Select the satellite you want by using >> on the top of the menu. Press OK on the satellite you want. The motor will start moving and a Moving banner will appear on the screen. Wait until you see the signal has increased to about 50%. If this is not achieved, then go to Motorised Diseqc 1.2 menu, go to No.4 Move Motor and press and hold << or >> to move the motor until the signal quality has increased. Then go to No.6 Motor Control. Use << or >> until you see Save. Press OK to Save. After this, go to No.8 and press OK (it will take you to Auto Search). Check the signal is above 50% in the progress bar. Press OK on No.1 Satellite- it will start tuning. Repeat for more satellite installations. In Auto Search menu, in No.1 Satellite use << or >> to select the satellite you want and press OK. It will automatically find the satellite. When you see a signal in the progress bar, press OK to search. This can be achieved only if the first stage of the installation has been done. Motorised Diseqc (USALS) Repeat same installation as Diseqc 1.2 Motorised except in Satellite System Setup menu, in No.4 Motor Setting, use << or >> to select USALS and press OK. You will then see the USALS Setting menu. In No.1 Satellite Name, use << or >> to select the satellite you want. Then go to No.4 Longitude, e.g. for London enter 0010, the use << or >> to select S (South) or N (North). After this, go to No.5 Latitude, e.g. for South England 515N. Then go to No.6 Motor Control and use << or >> until you see GOTO and press OK. The motor will start to move. To make a fine adjustment, go to No.7 Move Motor and press and hold << or >> intermittently (press << or >> on/off) until you see the signal at its highest. You have to go back to Longitude and adjust the numbers, e.g. to 001.2/3/4/5/ etc, and go to No.6 Motor Control. Press GOTO until you achieve the highest percentage of signal strength. Once this is achieved, go to (No.8 Go to Auto Search). In Auto Search menu, select the satellite by using << or >> and press OK. The motor will move automatically to the satellite of your choice. Then press OK to tune. Best wishes Mickha |

hi micha, thanks for tip havn't tried yet but will probably do it tomorrow morning.
getting 67-70% on tvsh-sat, and still 10% on digitalb. achieved this by a bit of dish flexing. thanks, will try in morning. ![]() |

Be careful with the dish-flexing technique.
It's only used to test if you could get a better signal by actually adjusting the dish elevation or azimuth, not to introduce a permanant adjustment! It just saves some time making endless tiny alterations. You never want to actually permanently deform the dish face, as it will never achieve the same performance again ![]()

Hi chavslav, Digitalb is particularly sensitive to elevation for some reason. I am getting about 82% on a 1.2 m dish but onlt 90% on the stronger 19.2 E and 13 E channels.
To improve the 16E reception I had to increase the elevation just a tiny bit which resulted in a slight reduction in signal strength on adjacent sats.

Hi chavslav,
you could try deleting one of the DigiAlb channels, and do a re-scan, to see if your receiver picks it up. Also try My Music 11092 V 32000 as it is broadcasting in the clear. Best wishes Mickha |
