Default Missing Eurobird.

The Eurobird1 is normally seen as part of the Astra2 family on 28.2 East. Using my sky receiver this is indeed the case - my fixed 43cm sky dish picks up Astra2 A,B,D & Eurobird.

With my Relook400s, scanning the sats on Astra2 [28.2e] picks up A,B & D. [Eurobird1 {28.5e} is listed as a separate satelite]

No problem - just select it to be scanned as well - well no; it shows no signal strength whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Thanks
John

Does the Relook have a satellites.xml file? You could just edit it to merge the two transponder lists together. I don't know why they list them separately. You can't get one without the other anyway. 0.3 of a degree isn't much more than the spread of the various Hotbird satellites (0.22 degrees currently).

Or maybe you could just download some pet123 settings or similar. Is there not a plugin for the Relook to build one? Maybe you could try the Dreambox version, or use an external package like DreamBoxEdit.

Have a play. What's the worst that can happen?

Probably just the way the reciever is setup. [ Each sat requires a separately defined LNB in the software and Astra 2[28.2..] ]& Eurobird1[28.5] are separate items in the original software. I don't understand it but I am new to this stuff. Only want 'Extreme Sports' out of 144 channels anyway

Sure, the receiver will filter-out those transponders not in the list identified for each of the two satellites, but it will receive both perfectly well without moving the dish.

If you don't want to mess about with the files in the box, just add the required Eurobird transponder to the Astra 2 orbital location and scan it there instead. There won't be any overlap between transponder frequencies and polarisations between satellites physically located that closely together ('co-located').

Have you setup your Relook and PC with an FTP connection via a network cable yet? The UserID and Password are both 'relook' as default AFAIK.

Hi Stick,
"Have you setup your Relook and PC with an FTP connection via a network cable yet?" - No nothing fancy yet; just playing with the reciever 'as is'.

In the end just put in Extreme sports details under 28.2e and up it popped!

Cheers
John
