France Télécom and TPS, first to offer high definition IPTV

The first French operators to have understood the importance of the telephone line as a new method of distribution and to have launched pay IPTV in December 2003, France Telecom and TPS find themselves yet again at the heart of technical innovation.

On 1st June, the two groups will launch the first High Definition IPTV programme offer. High profile sports events such as the FIFA World Cup, the most spectacular documentaries, entertainment and live events "just like you were there", drama and successful series... Great programmes which, thanks to TPS, France Telecom's MaLigne TV will be providing with unequalled picture and sound quality.

* Major sports events on TF1, M6 and TPS STAR with:

On TF1 and M6, from 9th June, the most eagerly awaited sports event in 4 years:
- the FIFA World Cup 2006, recorded and broadcast in HD for the first time.

On TPS STAR, top international football and French basketball matches:
- English Premier League and the German Bundesliga (from August 2006), TPS will show the best games in HD.
- French basketball, major matches such as the final of the French Pro A championship broadcast on 18th June at 2 pm.

* The greatest films on TPS STAR, with:

Arsène Lupin, Shall We Dance?, The Italian Job, Terminator 3, Charlie's Angels Full Throttle, Podium, Polar Express, Elektra, Constantine, Man to Man, The Sponge Bob Square Pants Movie

A leading player in French cinema and exclusive partner of the largest Hollywood majors, TPS can now promise best French films and American box office hits in HD.

* But also:

TF1 drama and successful series (Navarro, Commissaire Moulin, Diane Femme Flic...) and its symbolic programme Ushuaïa and entertainment (Kaamelot...) on M6.

Increased programming in HD on other TPS channels.

The range of TPS HD programmes available on France Telecom's MaLigne TV can be seen from 1st June by all eligible households with an HD Ready screen.

Just subscribe to the MaLigne TV HD option (HD set-top box included), to your choice of TPS package and to the TPS HD option. France Telecom and TPS will propose launch offers.
