Default MultiBlock Setup

Hiya

STICK asked me to post a couple of pic's of my setup.... hope they might help someone if your thinking of going down this route.

The dish is Triax TD88 and the multiblock mount is supplied by Triax so it makes it quite easy to setup the LNB's. I'm getting a signal level of around 95/97% and a quality of around 80% on all three LNB's. They are looking at 28.2E, 19.2E and 13E. The Hotbird LNB is on it's own on the right with the two Astra LNB's on the other side.

I was surprisingly easy to setup, with some really good input from some forum members if you need any more info let me know,

Bilbo

Nice pics Bilbo, thanks for posting them.
I have been thinking of going multi lnb for a while but I think I will stick with my motor until it wears out.

Hi Analoguesat

Funny you should say that.........

Its funny though, one of my neighbours has just given me an old 80cm dish as he can see I'm now in to 'dishes', as it happens I've got a spare universal LNB, so look out for some more pictures of a 'dish-on-a-tyre' installation whilst I search the skies !!

I'm now in the market for an old second-hand receiver (any suggestions?) so it's off ro e-bay for a search

Cheers
Bilbo

Hiya Jimdefruit

I might well do that, I work with Unix in my job, mainly Solaris but I do look after a Radius server I built on RedHat so the OS doesnt really concern me too much as I'm familiar with a linux file system.

As a complete nOOb on the Dreambox though, is there any particular flavour you would recommend ?

Cheers

Only the early 7020's were truly bad. Judge the rest on the features.

Read some stuff in our Dreambox section, then checkout the official site:

http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/

Depends on what you want it to do, but anything with an HDD capability and a USB/Compactflash slot will take you to another level.

Sounds like you would love it

Hi Bilbo

What is the prime focus for your multi lnb set up.
I am wanting to do the same with a Zone 2 (60cm) minidish though, and a Vision 20 degree multi bracket(2 holder).
This Vision multi bracket sits on top of the the minidish lnb arm,I modified the lnb arm,by drilling a hole right through,to the bottom, where the pin to hold the lnb,is normally inserted.
The bolt for the vision bracket was then inserted through to fasten it to the lnb arm.
This also means the the traditional peg "sky" lnb can still remain inserted at the end of the lnb arm.So this means 3 lnbs,in total.
I have also purchased the peg adapter, which allows a unviseral 40mm collar lnb to be used with a minidish.
So I could use a mix and match of lnbs e.g "sky" and universal,or all universal lnbs.
(I'll try and post photos,when i can,and when it stops raining :'()
At the moment,it's still facing 28.2e.
Should I face it to 13e,as it's supposed to be the weakest.
Thanks for any help.

I forgot to mention, the multi bracket only allows movement from side to side.
So what would you have to do for the lnb facing 28.2e,as the elevation for that is lower than hotbird or Astra 1.
How do you overcome that?
Thanks.
