The final results are in, and Sky get 4 of the Premiership packages, with pay TV operator Setanta getting the other two. So now anyone wanting the full monty will have to pay twice!
BSKYB PREMIERSHIP PACKAGES Package A: 23 matches shown at 1600 on Sunday Package B: 23 matches shown at 1330 on Sunday Package E: 23 matches shown at 1245 on Saturday Package F: seven to 13 matches on midweek evenings/bank holidays, 10 to 16 at 1245 on Saturday and 1600 on Sunday SETANTA PREMIERSHIP PACKAGES Package C: minimum of 12 matches at 2000 on Monday, the rest either at 1330 on Sunday or 1715 on Saturday or other times Package D: minimum of 18 matches at 1715 on Saturday, the rest either at 1330 on Sunday, 2000 on Monday or other times http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4975632.stm

OMG, what a bunch of crap.
Why don't they just pop round with the red-hot poker and shaft us all personally?!?! Another reason to redouble our efforts to educate & illuminate in the ways of the alternatives to overpriced TV subscriptions. At least Sky didn't get 5 out of the 6, as that's what I imagined happening. It'll be interesting to see how Setanta price their packages relative to how much they paid for them. When are they going to accommodate the actual football fans who primarily want to follow their team all season? How is this structure satisfying the fan over the shareholder? Disgusting.

I wonder how the split will affect how they manage their Premiership Plus PPV footy as well?
Perhaps they'll now give those games away 'free' to Sports subscribers to make up for the loss :? Reading the BBC article it looks like a possibility...
