About bl**dy time too. These moneymaking ramshackle operations have been seemingly unregulated and doing more or less what they like to make money for far too long.

Heres afollowup to this story:
Big Game TV has denied allegations that it has been intentionally defrauding viewers who take part in its on-air quizzes by running up their phone bills. The claims were made by a former freelance Big Game TV telephone operator on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours programme and claimed that producers at the channel instructed him not to answer calls in order to increase the channel’s premium rate telephony revenues. According to Bob Windsor – a former Big Game TV employee who left the channel on 13 March – unanswered calls trip through to a premium rate phone line costing 75p per call. Windsor claimed that sometimes calls came in at a rate of 150 to 200 per minute and that viewers could be left on hold for as long as two and a half hours. "The whole idea was to get call volumes up," he said. Following the allegations, police raided the offices of Big Game TV at 200 Gray’s Inn Road. In a statement released by Big Game TV’s solicitors, Corker Binning, the channel said: "Big Game TV is co-operating fully in an investigation which has apparently been precipitated by an allegation from a disaffected freelancer at the company. Big Game TV strongly denies this allegation and this firmly held position is consistent with Big Game TV’s total transparency and the complete access it has given to the police in an effort to resolve this matter at the earliest possible opportunity." Big Game TV insists that it works within guidelines set out by media watchdog Ofcom and Icstis, the regulatory body for the premium rate telecommunications industry. The statement added: "But in light of the current investigation we have been advised that it is inappropriate to make any further comment at this stage." source - quiztelly.com
