Yes, that's a very useful site.
Unless you have broken something (unlikely, although you must ensure you switch off/unplug the mains power from the receiver before plugging and unplugging the coax) it's probably just an alignment problem. Try having a look at a neighbours Sky dish to get an idea, and make very subtle adjustments - it can take 3 seconds for a digital signal to register on the receiver, so move a little, wait a little. Have a quick look at this too. It's written for motorised systems, but shows you what you're aiming for. http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...hp?topic=403.0 A £10 sat meter will make things easier, but it's not a must-have. Thanks for the guides guys its all set up now!!
Seems to me a lot of it was the wiring and now with the wire suggested here it works a treat ![]() However how come some channels dont work while most do?? Such as BBC world, Sky news, raceworld tv- 75% of channels work great no problem with a good quality signal on the menu however other channels just dont show anything and it says no signal in middle of screen?? Is it perhaps worth doing an update of the software due to outdated channel list?? Ive just noticed it says on raceworld website they have changed frequencies so is this the reason?? Also how would i go about picking up astra 28 E for english channels as well as 19.2 e at same time?? A double lnb?? Sorry for such stupid questions just im clueless when it comes to this thing however i can see why it is a hobby of some people! Cheers Jim P.S some guy said about downloading some stuff from net for some extra channels however i dont know where from........any pointers?? My decoder thing is a comag sl 65 |

There has been quite a few changes on 19E in recent weeks, with channels moving around. get your channel list up to date with one of these sites:

Hi Jim, there are a couple of ways you can receive multiple satellites, one obviously is a motorised system the other, as you suggest, is by having multiple LNB's. Here is a couple of pic's of my setup which uses multiple LNB's, i pick up 28.2E, 19.2E and 13E http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...hp?topic=665.0 If you got any questions let me know. ![]() Bilbo

Hi Jim, I've not had any experience of the monoblocks so it's hard for me to comment on whether they perform or not. Theory says that they should probably work better than two single LNB's but I still like the idea of tuning each one seperately from each other. Perhaps one of the others can give you a more objective review....which ever way you go it's worth it ! ![]() Bilbo

It's quite a neat solution. Two LNB's and a switch all combined into one unit.
Unfortunately, the angle between the two LNB's is fixed, and this is normally at 6 degrees. The difference you need is 28.2 - 19.2 = 9 degrees. Your dish is also probably not big enough to accommodate multiple LNB's if I remember the Lidl kit. What diameter is your dish? STICK

Its 39 which i know is very very small!!!
I guess im not to worried about 28.2 soon as i already have standard freeview with most the channels on. What is hotbird at 13 E like?? Many english channels or anyother good quality channels? The 1 channel i would most like however is eurosport 2 in any language. Ive noticed its on 19.2 but "scrambled" as my reciever puts it. Is there a way to get round this or a way i can get it unencrypted on another satellite?? Thanks for continued help Jim |

Eurosport 2 is not FTA on any satellite AFAIK, but it's open in Cryptoworks (with a hack) on 7E at the moment.
To be honest Jim, if you're encouraged by your experiences thus far, you would be able to do a truckload more with some different kit. Although there is a 'fix' or what we call a 'patch' for your receiver, it's not updated often enough to be much good, whereas other receivers have excellent updates. A bigger dish is a must though - but it sounds like you're getting a fair bit off 19.2E. Hotbird will give you similar results, though tends to be a bit weaker. I'd just have some fun playing with those two satellites for a while. You could always sell your Lidl kit on eBay and get something else later. You'd probably get your money back too!

Thats true about selling on ebay for a profit!
![]() So are some of my current channels such as cnbc europe, sky news and bbc world not working because of the dish size?? I think ill wait until lidl do the home satellite kit later in year and buy the 80cm dish for £15. I noticed on another thread about the Technomate TM-1000D and it dosnt seem stupidly expensive however what extra channels would i get with this and a "patch" if i was to point it at 19.2 astra and hotbird 13 e?? Cheers again Jim
