Hello m8, and :welc1: to the forum!

Yes, the 7025 is a fine box, and will do as much as any box on the planet.

You're also right when you say that you are currently only scratching the surface.

A motorised dish will give you more stuff than you can possibly imagine! LOL

In Cork, you will probably need a 1m dish or even better a 1.2m dish to be sure of the best satellite coverage.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like. There is no such thing as a stupid question as far as we're concerned

The Dreambox doesn't have a CAM inside as most adverts from know-nothing sellers would have you believe, but rather it has configurable software components which can emulate CAMS. Because it's software-based, it never goes out of date unlike hardware!

Welcome Charly,

As Stick says, the dreambox doesn't need cams or cards although it is quite capable of reading any of the official cards that are available from the TV programme providers.

Hi Charly,
Have a look at Lyngsat.com and check the satellites say 35 East to 30 West and check the transmission footprints for your location. There are lots of satellites and you should be able to get most of them. There are so many channels that I am sure you will find lots to match your interests.

On the practical side, also perform your own survey of the proposed dish location to maximise your viewing potential.

A well thought-out installation is well worth the effort involved. If you're not confident of doing this yourself, get a professional in to do it for you.
