As Jim says, a Linux box is actually pretty easy to administer with a few simple tools on a Windows PC, but you're still talking around £170 for a very basic model (DM-500S).
For £100, you can get a Technomate TM-1500 CI+ Super, the next model up from the TM-1000 D. The only advantages over the TM-1000 D are the ability to add cards and CAM's, but those are themselves going to cost you £50 - £100 depending on what you want, plus a £30 programmer. Just checked, and the Technomate patch does do TV CABO, and covers both the TM-1xxx models above. It's a cheap solution when compared to the 'Pro' boxes, but it gets the job done and most hacks for them follow the Dreamboxes within a few days normally. You get what you pay for, but if you only want to spend £60 - £100 on a receiver, then you can still join the party ![]() If it were me, I'd go for the 1000 D and pocket the £40 difference. Here's a 1000 D for £60 plus £12 P+P. It even comes with the null-modem cable! Just connect it to your PC with the supplied cable, start the loader, point it at the downloaded patch file, turn on your STB, wait until it's loaded and you're done! STICK
