Yes - today is the 10th anniversary of the flight of Ariane v501. Nowadays we expect the Ariane rocket to fly faultlessly and put its payloads into orbit efficiently without any drama, but 10 years ago it all went horribly wrong.

A software bug put the rocket off course after 40 seconds, and a couple of seconds later it broke up and exploded spewing debris and the 4 Cluster satellites into the French Guyanan swamps....
