Just been having a look at some of Sid's dodgy photos
and found these amongst them! ![]() The interesting one is the T90. This uses a clever secondary-reflector design (and is known as a 'toroidal' dish) which, rather than producing a single point of focus, generates more of a 'line' of focus so that you can throw loads of LNBs at it! Sid used four 4-way DiSEqC switches, each one on a different receiver to speed up his feedhunting! One does 8w,12w,15w,22w whilst another does 10e,5e,1w,5w. They are the main LNBs in use on the T90, but there are actually 14 altogether! 8) Where some satellites are close together in the sky, the LNB's have to be close together too. Sid has used special narrow 'alps' LNBs in this case to make it all fit. The dish is 90cm in height, but is actually 1.06m wide. If anyone is interested in this setup, I'm sure Sid will be happy to chat about it ![]() There is also a good article on another guy's T90 here. hi guys also remmber when setting up a t 90 dish how the lnbs go.if you put your back to the dish, this means where the dish see the satellites.the lnbs are the other way round.so if you had a dish with a motor it would move to the right for west satellites.but on a t 90 for east the lnb is set on the right side of your bar.this should save guys who get one so time on setup.

You have 14 LNBs and you *still* need a motor!
Just how many satellites can you pic up? ![]() Alcina

hi Alcina, lol there is no motor on a t 90 dish.it was an example how the lnbs go on setup
& yes i have 14 lnbs on mine on the bar where the lnbs go you would think the east is on the left side of the bar for setup.but its not,for the lnb to pick up signel on a t 90 set its to the right side of the bar for east satellites.west satellites are on the left side of the bar for lnbs.hope this makes things clear if you ever set one up.sid ![]() |

It's not about the money, it's about running loads of receivers doing dedicated scanning jobs and flicking between multiple satellites as quickly as possible.
Feedhunting is a fast and furious game. You have to be quick, and get the word out before the feed's gone again ![]() A single LNB can only cover one satellite at a time, and a motor takes far too long to spin through the different birds.
