Hi litttyjin

Does it happen at exactly 8pm every night, or does it vary?

If it's at exactly the same time, i.e. exactly 8pm, there is probably some kind of parental lock on the receiver which may be removed with the master PIN code. If it's just a general loss of signal at that sort of time, then either your dish is poorly aligned, or you need a larger dish.

What sort of signal strength and quality readings do you have when there is good reception, and when it's poor or non-existant?

What equipment do you have, receiver, dish etc. and which satellite are you aligned on?

Do the stations that broadcast during the day actually broadcast after 8pm? Eg. BBC4 only broadcasts from 7pm in the evening here and there's nothing on that channel during the day. BBC4 usually has a test card up during the day informing you that transmissions will start at 7pm though. Just a thought.

If you are having problems with Astra 2D (or 2A North beam) from Italy, the best place to get advice regarding dish sizes and receiver sensitivity is the Astra2D website. Here is a link to the Italian section.

Hope this is of some help!
