Default Help with plug ins

Lo all I have been messing about with me skystar2 set up now for a bit and have got the hang of ProgDVB etc but the one thing I can't work out are the softcam keys etc and the plug ins. I use Progdvb and have s2emu krasnal and vplug all running and my dish is set at hotbird. When I run progdvb and click monitor on a scrambled channel you get all the options like ECM EMM PID etc but I don't understand what they are for. When I first got set up in February/March I am sure I could watch the TPS channels but now I can't.

Any help appreciated. Also is there anywhere that can tell you which channels are currently opened using progdvb softcam keys and plugins because I don't know which channels I should be able to recieve and which I have no chance of getting.

Hello m8.

Pretty much everything is down at the moment.

I'm told that you can use the latest version of vplug to watch TPS, but as they are changing keys every 30 minutes, you have to have your PC permanently online and vplug will grab the latest keys off the net somewhere. There is a similar setup available for the Dreambox and the Technomate TM-1xxx series.

I've not tried this, as I think it's a bit of a shitty fix and I only like elegant solutions (because I'm a software-snob programmer!) :roflmao:

Regards seeing what's open, it's always a little out of date, but have a read of this thread for an interesting link.

For a good understanding of all the technical terms, check out http://www.duwgati.com.

Whatever you don't understand after that, we'll fill you in
