4.6m digital satellite viewers have used the BBC's red button interactive application during this year's World Cup so far.
That figure equates to one in four digital satellite viewers taking advantage of the BBCi application, with nearly 70% using it for longer than three minutes. At 4.6m viewers, the application has already attained higher usage figures than Wimbledon 2005 (4.4m), the 2006 Winter Olympics (4.3m), and the 2002 World Cup (4m). The record for the most viewed interactive event on digital satellite stands at 9m BBCi viewers for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Source: Digital Spy The phrase "70% using it for longer than three minutes" perplexes me somewhat, as it implies that 30% used it for less than three minutes. This is clearly a load of crap as it takes 17 minutes from when you press the red button to when anything appears on-screen, by which time you've missed two goals and three red cards! ![]() STICK
