Sounds like the alignment of the dish needs a tweak - you should be able to get 70+% quality easy. Try nudging the dish in each direction gently and see if it makes any difference. If not, then you will need a bigger dish.

hi gary,

check lnb, and all your connections, how's the weather down there, that can play havoc with your signal..

all give the lnb a slight move, not too much, i done this before and gained another 10-15% , and as analoguesat says, slight movements on dish, tilt etc......

welcome to the boards...

don't think you can boost on sat , like you can coax.

what channel are you trying to get, can you see tv, when you move dish ?

I'm unaware of any Russian stations on Astra 2b, are you sure you're on 28.2E?

Russians??? :?

Gawd knows where your dish is pointing but is definitely not at 28E! Give us the station names and one of us will identifdy the satellite for you.

As far as boosting your signal, there is such a thing as a 'booster' for satellite IF, but I wouldn't recommend it. It just amplifies the noise as well as the signal, and is very unlikely to give you any improvement. They are really designed for very long cable runs, but even then I wouldn't bother.

Concentrate on dish alignment. What dish do you have, and what size is it?
