Hi chavslav,
if you're unable to get Thor, 1W, which is the nearest satellite to due south, then to get the arc takes a little more work. You need to set your motor to the settings for 5E, instead of 0, then move the mount until your signal is peaked on 5E, tighten everything up and use the motor, and receiver, to re-find all the satellites. You might also check the LNB, see if it's not loose in the mount, check it's the correct distance from your dish and skewed correctly.
That Triax dish you're looking at would also help and the price is fantastic, if you can trust Ebay, it is a high gain dish and will definitely pull in everything you want on 16E.
Best wishes
Mickha

hi mickha, already done as you said, just changed elevation on sirius, and have got a n increase of 5%, 72% overall now.

i'm missing transponders on 5 east as well, it could be that i'm close to houses, chimneys and general interferences, so that could be the problem.

thanks everyone for replies.

Ahah! So this might explain why I've "lost" one transponder on 19.2 E that I was *sure* I had when I first setup the dish at the weekend. I can no longer get TV5, or indeed aything on 11568 V 22000 5/6 (transponder info courtesy of DigitalSat - was invaluable over the weekend! analogueguest). I'm sure when I first went through the channels I had three TV5 channels (TV5, TV5Monde and TV5Monde Europe), but now I have only two. The dish *is* looking a little "rotated" compared to how it was originally ops: I presumed that if I got 19.2 I got all of 19.2! Ah..so much to learn!

Sorry to hijack...but useful information! It's a learning curve...

I don't think this effect is going to be noticeable on 19.2E as it's an all-round high-powered orbital location. I can only find two TV5 channels on http://www.lyngsat.com/astra19.html and they are both on the new Astra 1KR satellite/beam.

TV5MONDE and TV5MONDE EUROPE both come bashing in here with 85% signal.

Try a rescan of the two transponders 11568 V 22000 5/6 and 11597 V 22000 5/6.

All the readings are for signal strength only.
I don't have all the transponders listed, so filled what I could. Some interesting similarities, and some even more interesting differences.

My Skystar card, from which the readings were taken, does not give accurate quality readings. ProgDVB sets the quality value to the signal value, and MyTheatre just says 100% all the time. The Dreambox quality readings are meaningless to everyone except other Dreambox users, as they are very low and quite stupid. The signal readings on the Dreambox are around 10% less than the Skystar.

The Dreambox 7000 tuner is a bit 'deaf' i.e. not very sensitive, but the Skystar is very good.

I haven't optimised my dish alignment for these tests, just a quick manual lock. Could probably squeeze quite a bit more out of the performance.

cheers stick, are you still getting picture on 11092, 32000 , with 42% signal strength,

i had 97% signal strength pretty much across the board, but the quality was dreadful.

Yes, sorry, I meant to say - I have a rock solid picture on all but the one transponder noted as breaking up.

Looks like your Digitalb reception is a bit crappy too Stick.

If you ever get the chance it would be interesting to see if you get a big increase in signal strength by tilting the dish up a teeny bit. That might prove my theory about the 11092 transponder being slightly out.

Yes, my dish alignment is only rough and ready, although all the major orbital locations come banging in - certainly between 28.2E and 30W, but I think you're right about 16E - certainly something a bit odd with that bird.

I'll have a fiddle when I get a chance. Hopefully there's enough play in my DiSEqC motor to do it without slackening the dish clamp!
