Channel 4 has suspended advertising on its new broadband simulcast over rights issues.
The recently-launched service allows internet users to watch a simulcast of the Channel 4 TV station, although acquired series and films - such as US imports Lost and Desperate Housewives - are blanked out. Now that extends to the ads as well after the Institute of Practitoners in Advertising claimed that actors and musicians appearing in such ads could sue because their work was being broadcast online. C4 confirmed that ads had been pulled from the simulcast for "an interim period" to "allow the IPA to address [its] concerns".
