Dear Freinds,
I would like to share some websites that I have come across for info on New Starting Channels, one is kingofsat.net and the other is www.sat-digest.com. Both website are updated daily I hope you guys would also send in any related web addresses. I would also like to know if there are any websites on teaching the basics of Sat Exploration. Thanks. |

Flysat is pretty good although they are on a 5 day update break at the moment (www.flysat.com) Lyngsat are ok - can be slow at updating sometimes, but have loads of extra info on the site (addresses, rocket launch schedules etc) (www.lyngsat.com) Some folks like satcodx (www.satcodx.com) but I find the site clunky and a pain in the a**e to use) If you are only interested in using an old analogue box then the Analoguesat site (www.analoguesat.co.uk) is reckoned to be pretty good (wonder who runs that then )As for teaching the basics - you have already found it - this site is set up specifically so folks new to the hobby can ask some of the basic questions whitout fear of being humiliated as can happen on some of the bigger forums. Ask away, no matter how simple the question someone will try and answer it in easy to understand terms. We havent had many failures in getting folks up and running yet - even if it does take a few goes to sort the problem out! ![]() Have a wander round the forum and see if the existing threads answer your questions. If not, ask some questions and we will jump in to help out.

Hi,
Is there any website where I can findout what is broadcasted to southern Africa? Lyngsat etc.shows info for mainly Europe/America - and their info for southern africa i.t.o frequencies/packages is incorrect. e.g. they show Hotbird 6 (frequency) as being available, Dish network (package) also - not the case. Kingofsat etc. more geared for Europe. |

Not directly I dont think, you will need to look at Lyngsat, and check out the PAS 7 & 10 sats at 68E
Also there are a few other satellites beaming at southern Africa. I think W1 at 10E has some transmissions pointing your way, and either one of the NSS birds or one of the Sesats..
