Default Sky tips

How to turn the annoying background music off on that appears when you are surfing the epg:

Press Services 4, 2 on your remote, and you will find a menu for the sound. Toggle the music off, then scroll down using the arrow buttons and save changes

How to hide the press red icons.

Services 4, 1 gives you a picture menu.Scroll down to "On Screen Icon Timeout" and toggle it to ON. Save your settings and the blob disappears after 30 seconds. (It will come back after advert breaks), but its better than nothing.

If you have the latest software, (most folks should unless the box hasnt been used for ages) set up your 50 favourite channels into their own mini epg.

Services 5, then scroll through the channels and press yellow to set a channel as a favourite. If you then press TV guide blue, you get your own mini epg.

Default Re: Sky tips

How to add channels to your digibox:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup ( 4 )
-> Add Channels ( 4 )
-> Enter the frequency: (pick a frequency from the testing lists here):

http://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/forum...p?topic=1385.0

-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight "the channel test name" and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels ( 6 ) on STB / ( 8 ) on Sky+
-> pick the "channel identification" for whichever test(s) you are interested in

Please note, you only get the tests to whichever level of package you are subscribed to. So everyone gets the fta tests, but on the rare occasions a sports channel is testing, only folks with sports packs get to see it.

[EDIT] Fixed smiley replacement glitch - sorry ops: STICK
