Default Strongest transponders

Heres a list of nice strong tp's for various satellites ("borrowed" from the DS forum ). It might help you set your dish up on that elusive satellite. 28E not listed simply because 28E is so flippin strong almost any tp will do! This list is most useful for the UK, but can probably be used reasonably successfully in countries close to the uk as well.

Ok so from that list, with an 80cm dish should I be able to get the majority of them from Cheshire because at the moment the only 2 I can receive are 19E and 13E. Before we moved house and in the old d2mac days I used to be able to pick up 1W and 7E too but I am struggling here.

Not neccessarily.

7E is fairly strong. Almost all the 1W tp's are rubbish here on an 80cm dish.

Go to www.digital*sat.co.uk - (Remove the *) - and see what I can get on my setup (mainly 80cm dishes). You should get most of the tp's I can see from your location, and that will give you a dozen orbital slots to start with.

Cheers m8 will have a look now, managed to get 16E this afternoon think I was relying on the sat meter too much cos 13E and 19E seem to have the strongest signals. Had a mess about and put the dish in between the 2 and turned the dial down on the sat meter and bingo. Got soaked in the rain doing it but it was worth it

Once you know where the stronger sats are you can have a go for some of the other sats (Ive got trees blocking between 5W and 30W.)

Gonna have a proper look over the weekend got a scaffolding pole on the way to put the dish on. A bit more permanent than leaning against a rabbit hutch.

Oh it will be useful all right - anything that gives folks nice strong signals to look for has to be helpful

45E Europestar is now known as PAS 12
