Default Re: Looking to get Technomate 1500 - Newb

I don't think I need a CAM so the purchase will be made soon.

In another thread someone said to look at the TV when alligning the dish if possible as this gives a better idea.

Will there be a signal quality and strength meter on the technomate menu as per SKY?

Or do you make adjustments until you get a picture? ops: Is a sat meter a worthwhile purchase?

I've read the guide to working out the position of the satellites and have worked out angle etc of the dish using a utility recommended.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, there are signal strength and quality meters (indicator bars) on the Technomate, so you could try with those if you either have an assistant, or can see the TV screen from the dish. Otherwise, I would invest in a cheap meter or beeper.

It really depends on how often you see yourself adjusting your dish. It'll always be more than you think!

Good luck
