Sky has enhanced its Sky Mobile TV service with the addition to the channel roster of the Extreme Sports Channel. The Extreme Sports mobile TV service will offer made-for-mobile content including a series covering the best and worst slams and profiles on the ultimate extreme sports legends as well as existing content such as the acclaimed Tips and Tricks series.
Stephen Nuttall, Director of Business Development at Sky, said that the successful launch of Sky Mobile TV showed that there is real demand for entertainment on the move. Sports has been one of the most popular genres in mobile TV so with the welcome addition of the Extreme Sports channel we’re giving customers even more of what they enjoy.” Matt Goff, Head of Extreme To Go, the channel’s mobile division said that mobile television was central to plans to expand Extreme’s presence on a variety of new media platforms. “Our consumers are hungry for quality branded content on their phones and we’re delighted to be launching our first mobile TV service here in the UK market.” It is expected that Sky Mobile TV will be extended to other 3G mobile networks and that more channels will be added over the coming months.
