Hi jps1000, and welcome to Satellite Help
![]() I think your problem is likely to be that your alignment is not quite right and/or your LNB isn't correctly positioned. Make sure the LNBs backward/forward position in the dish clamp is in the optimum position (trial and error), and that the skew is set to zero. To obtain a good motorised installation isn't easy. Read our guide here for the perfect setup. Other things that can cause poor quality readings: Using an LNB from a minidish on a 'standard' dish Interference from a local source Bent/damaged dish face or LNB boom arm Incorrect settings in receiver (wrong FEC specified for example, or bad LNB settings, LO, switching freq. etc.) Damaged/defective LNB, or LNB of incorrect type Water ingress Partial signal obstruction Have a think about those, and give us some more details if they don't give you what you need to fix it ![]()

That dish will be OK for most powerful satellites in most weathers, but it's a bit small to ensure strong reception on the weaker ones, or when it's raining.
You're obviously interested in other satellites, or you wouldn't have motorised - so I would go for a larger dish. As a fixed dish on say 28.2E, 19E, 13E, 5W, 30W etc, the little Fortec Star 65 is good value for money at £30 as it also includes a cheap wall mount. Just about any of the dishes on this page of 80cm and over will be OK. http://www.brymar.co.uk/acatalog/Sat...Dishes_24.html I think the Raven 90, the Triax 88 and the Channel Master/Andrews 90 are all excellent choices depending on your budget. Your Titanium Edition TSX LNB will be just fine on any of these dishes. Regards, STICK

Your receiver is a modern digital STB which automatically handles not only band and polarisation switching, but also has DiSEqC 1.0, 1.2 and USALS.
I found your LNB on eBay, and it too is a modern 'Universal' LNB with band and polarisation switching, so unless the receiver or LNB are defective, or you've hit one of the other problems above, there is no reason it shouldn't work and your problem is therefore alignment related. Unfortunately, the easiest way to check an LNB is by replacement. Do you have a spare, or the possibility of borrowing one for a quick test? Are you still getting a strong signal and zero quality? What dish did you buy?
