ITV requests kids' programming cut

ITV has formally requested that Ofcom allow it to cut the level of children's programming on ITV1.

Currently, the broadcaster must air eight hours per week of kids' programming on the network. It is understood that ITV has requested that this requirement be dramatically reduced, perhaps even to the extent of dropping CITV entirely from its weekday lineup.
