I'd still like to put them back to back as I'm sure I could make the Gibbi get very close.
Channelmasters are after all only mesh dishes. Very well made ones, but mesh nevertheless.

Based on everything I've read, cm for cm the Gibertini is king now, but 1.5m to 1.8m is a big gap to make up.

I certainly think the Gibertini 1.25m outperforms the CM 1.2m.

I think we should challenge one of the big mags to have a shoot out and settle it, cos I'm certainly not buying one of each just to prove a point!

london-guy,

Just going back to your original question, which has been hijacked by some drooling over big dishes, have you looked at some of the other channels available on small dishes?

Showtime is available on Thor sat at 1W and there is a channels called Hit TV on 16E which is an arabic melody programme that may be the same as shown on 7W.

Yes, I believe you're right about Showtime, I've been reading a few interesting threads on this recently.

If I were you, I would go for the Invacom Quad LNB, but that's just my preference. I've never owned the Invacom Quad, but it's by far the most commonly quoted top performer in the fringe reception stakes.

Having a friendly word with the local planning dept before you buy may save a lot of hassle. You WILL need planning permission for a dish that big unless you live in the middle of nowhere.

hi stick, Invacom Quad LNB with c120 feedhorn is whats on my dish.this hits the edges of the dish right & signel is great .(Gibbi get very close)on a 1.5 dish i will beat this hands down.bring it here lol. but thay are a good dish.if you want a smaller dish then find 1 if you can? with a piggie back signel.ie lnb & plate facing away from your dish.these are very hard to came by.

I think Sid is talking about a big Gregorian dish like the 1.2m Fibo or similar. This would do quite well, but I don't think it will touch the other two dishes we've been talking about. I don't know of a 'production' Gregorian dish bigger than 1.2m. The Fibo's are as rare as hen's teeth now anyway.

There are not a lot of other competitors in the sub-2m class, although there are plenty of bigger dishes that will obviously do a lot better!

Virtually anything is possible with a big enough dish.
