hi london guy,Invacom Quad LNB with c120 feedhorn are knowen as very good with channel master dishes from 1.2 meter up in size.it does not have to be a Quad lnb here.if i put a normal lnb with out feedhorn my signel will go down a lot.this is why,it wont hit the edges of my dish,so signel goes down.my thinking with this is,why spend loads on a good dish like a channel master, then put a crappy lnb onit.its worth spending that bit more, then you know your getting the best out the dish.

Tee hee... this has been an interesting thread, but we're now right back where we were in post two with the Channel Master 1.8m getting most of the channels (verticals) but not all
![]() You did say that the 1.8m was too big for your location. Do you now think that you might get away with it? What mounting possibilities do you have? A garden? A flat roof?

i have a triax 1.1 motorised dish and i live in london, and i do recieve 12 015 h in the evenings for the whole yr, and sometimes i do get other channels if the weather is good, would a fortec star 1.5 dish be able to get me most of the nilesat channels?
would the fortec star 1.8 m dish get me the full nilesat or would i have problems with it? where i live, there isn't so much wind so would the 1.8 dish survirve and work fine? thanx in advance |

A well set up 1.2m is fine for the Horizontals on Nilesat in the south east of England. Theres several members of the satellites.co.uk forum got it working on a 1.2
HOWEVER it has to be a decent quality dish, and it needs setting up by an expert with plenty of time taken to tweak the alignments, straightness of the dish and lnb setting. The Fortec Star dishes are cheap badly pressed rubbish. RD100 (one of the members here) had one - it folded up in a storm last winter

Cheap rubbish
![]() If you want a decent big dish you pay several hundred pounds for it - yoiu dont buy one for a hundred quid from Maplins! Like most things in life you get what you pay for ![]()
