Manchester City striker Andrew Cole has signed for Portsmouth after agreeing terms on a two-year deal.

Pompey have agreed to pay an initial fee of £500,000, which could rise to £1m, depending on the number of appearances Cole makes.

The 34-year-old is believed to have been offered wages of £40,000 a week at Fratton Park.

"The club are trying to push forward, and I want to be a part of that," Cole told Portsmouth's official website.

Hmm not too happy about this one as I was looking forward to him coming back to get a few goals for City. Corradi seems a decent enough player but he is not gonna be a 15 to 20 goals a season player like Cole and Samaras is a similar player to Corradi so they aren't gonna play too much together. Time will tell I suppose.

Yeah, I don't like Cole's style of play much (he also misses too many) but you can't knock his goalscoring record so he must be getting on the end of more than his fair share...
