Default Strange one for you.

Okay I have been messing about with my dish over the weekend trying to find other satellites but alas to no avail. I can't even pick up astra at 28E which with an 80cm dish would have had the strongest signal. I can pick up 19E very easy and 13E just as easy and if I put the dish exactly in between the 2 I can get a few channels off 16E but can't get anything further east than 19E or anything further west than 13E. I know its a problem with my dish not actually being up on the wall but I am sure when I first got my ss2 card 28E was coming in pretty well the only difference is when I first got the ss2 I was using a 60cm black mesh dish instead of the 80cm black mesh dish I am currently using. Could it be a problem with the dish?

Dont forget as you go east from 19E you have to tilt the dish down a bit.
Is there something obstructing the dish's view of the sat as you move round and down for 28.2E?

there are no obstructions at all m8 its definitely not the dish as I get exactly the same results with the 60cm one I have just got out of the shed

Will keep trying and move the dish to different parts of the garden to see if that is the problem. I have a monoblock lnb on the way so I think I will put that on the 60cm dish for hotbird and astra 19E and stick it on the fence and carry on with the 80cm one to mess about and find the others with

kept the dish in the same place but changed the coaxial cabling and bingo 28E in all its glory. Just goes to show you doesn't it. Now for 1W and the others lol

Your monobloc will work much better on the 80cm dish. Multiple LNBs on a dish are a bit of a compromise, and will always perform slightly less efficiently. The bigger dish will compensate.

The 60cm is fine to mess about with for most sats.

cheers stick will probably do that then. Still having problems with 1W though and the others in between. Is there actually anything on those that is worth bothering with?

5e is ok. A couple of dozen eastern Europeans to look at.
7E is full of Turkish stuff.
Ive never had much luck with 1W - only 2 or 3 tps are visible here.
10E is full of feeds.

hmm if thats the case may just stick with the 80cm and the monoblock then and point the 60cm one at 28E

Sounds fair enough. You can always spin the 60cm dish around if and when something of interest becomes open, as Digiturk on 7E did recently.
