Fantastic.
I like your little improvisations. I take it you mean 5mm and not 5cm though? When you get your switch sorted, you're going to love seamlessly flicking between channels on different satellites. I found it very strange at first! STICK

Thanks for all your encouragement. Hello STICK, I did mean millimeters, not centimeters. Hello Jimdefruit, Heath Robinson has nothing on me!! Hello Jontydog, it helps if the wife is sitting watching the TV while shouting numbers up at you while you're on the roof, while you're asking merely if the bars on the TV are turning blue from red and not interested if the red values are increasing from 53 to 65!! Blue is the name of the game - at least it is if you have a Fortec box!!
After all that she wanted to watch ITV from boring old aerial (but I have recorded BBC4 from my Fortec dish at the same time!!!) Next stage is to wire up the DiscEq box and that will be another story - thanks so far, mates!!

hi diapason, just to add on your dish as you look about finnished here.with your cabels from dish make a drip loop for the rain to fall off, also looks better.also when done greess up the metal bits & scews to stop rusting up.for your dish face car wax is good
this also helps stopping rust, this will give a longer life from your dishes.all the best. from. sid |

Never thought of car wax - that sounds like a good idea on the dish. Some of the bolts at the back of the original and larger dish have a bit of rust on them, especially the ones at the west, where our Scottish weather comes from!

Another thanks to Sid - The wire to the Fortec dish is temporary as I am away on business for a few days. But it's there to receive ITV West region tonight and the wire is just about stretched to its limit. That white wire in my photo will eventually be replaced and I will remember to have drip loops on every one - we live in Scotland where it usually rains a lot although this year has been an exception. Looking forward to the year 2017 when it might be dry again!! (There's an 11 year cycle, I believe).

My dish mountings are covered in more grease than a cross-channel swimmer!
