Default Multi LNB as opposed to motorised

Hiya,

I do not anticipate installing a motorised for the moment since several trees, although asked politely, are refusing to move from what may be my 'sight line'. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow. Can I use a multiple LNB arrangement on one dish pointing in a specific direction and expect to pick up more than one satellite. I have seen arrangements on fixed dishes with four LNBs. I hope this doesn't mean I need four sets of coax going to the receiver.

Looking across the site in general, Why aren't you guys working for NASA on the space shuttle programs.

Your knowledge of the subject is amazing. I am not patronising, I'm welsh, not my fault.

I shall need to ask a few more questions before I take the big plunge, hope you can put up with me.

Thanks as always.

Pantyvest.

Unhelpful beggars, those trees, aren't they.

For multi lnb installations, you have what is called a diseqc switch. 2, 4 or 8 way depending on how many lnbs you have.

The receiver has a single cable to the switch and a cable from each lnb to the switch. The switch can be close to the dish.

I dont know about the others, but I dont work at all now. I just spend time on sat sites taking in and pasing out information and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Dont ever worry about asking questions, that is what the forum is for and we all learn a bit more from every question asked.

They don't pay enough :roflmao:

I bailed out of the rat-race in my mid-thirties because it was starting to make my hair fall out. This is much more fun

Daft questions? This is the place to ask all the things you wouldn't feel comfortable asking in some of the big scary forums
