Default motor problem......

hi all,

got a problem with me dish motor, will move from hotbird to astra, astra to sky sat, but won't go back up the arc(west).

i have to go in technomate menu , and go to point of reference, which is back to due south.

then i can continue down to 5 east 13 east,19, 28 .

is there a motor problem, has anyone else had this...

or is the motor coming to an end its a superjack.

Have you got your receiver set to DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS (AKA DiSEqC 1.3)?

Yes, if your receiver supports USALS.

In your receiver firmware somewhere it should have the option to set the DiSEqC switching into or out of USALS mode.

What USALS does is relate every satellite to one reference point (your due-south satellite usually), whereas DiSEqC 1.2 has an absolute value stored for every satellite, and uses the GOTO x.x protocol.

What is yours set to (I'm assuming it has USALS obviously)?

STICK

I didn't think you could use usals for a jack type motor Stick, because the movement is not linear between jack distance and degrees of dish movement.

I think it's a DiSEqC motor and not a jack from discussions we've had earlier. It's just made by the same folks.

Is that right chavslav?

Sorry, I may have made a poor assumption.

Try it, it may be that your USALS reference point is knackered. Or you could just follow the USALS setup routine again from the beginning.

If you switch off USALS and go back to DiSEqC 1.2, you will have to locate and store each satellite individually, but you can fine-tune each one optimally for your location.

That's what I do.
