Advice about TwinhanDTV Star Box ( model 7021) usb satellite


I ordered a Twinhan Vision Dtv Sat 1022A card off Amazon and the daft supplier as sent me a TwinhanDTV Star Box ( model 7021) usb satellite by mistake , but its power supply is two pin euro...

Now before i contact daft supplier to sort this out , i am wondering are these any good , can they be used with ProgDVB or is the original ordered Twinhan Vision Dtv Sat 1022A card better ?

online i found the TwinhanDTV Star Box ( model 7021) usb satellite retailling for £79.99

my original order cost £34.65 with postage !

Any helpfull advice folks ?

The Twinhan Starbox USB is a top performer if I remember correctly, and is much coveted.

I think it gives the Skystar USB more than a run for it's money. There was something about them that wasn't so hot though. Maybe it was reliability? :?

Can't remember.

Have a good search of the forums... but it sounds like you might have had a result.

I'm still not sure about USB receivers. I've got both the SS2 PCI and USB versions, but the USB version hasn't been out of its box for a couple of years now.

Im unsure what to do for the best The TwinhanDTV Star Box sent has a european plug power supply ( two round pins ) im in uk England ( 3 square pin plugs ) so that is a problem ....

If its a better box im tempted to say to them send my a uk power supply and i'll accept it. Got to be better for them than arsing about posting me what i ordered and them paying postage back for this wrongly sent item.

just dithering i guess , carnt make my mind up if im doing the best thing..

And would ProgDVB work with the Twinhan Usb Star Box ?

Just put a shaver adaptor on the end it'll be absolutely fine.

Check the ProgDVB website for a list of compatible receivers, but I would think it's fine.

All European power supplies are the same now, so yes, you can use a shaver plug, or cut the plug off and fit a UK 3-pin plug.

Forget the (lack of) earth wire.

You can also just replace the cable with a UK equivalent one yourself. Only a few quid.

Well thanks for advice folks but so far im fed up........

I decided to keep the TwinHan Star Box , even though it has a european power supply ( twin round pin , built into tranformer) im using a shave plug adapter..

Well Star Box installed on Pc , Maplin Sat Coaxe used . dish in place with Lnb . Ive used the lidl sat finder and it lit up all diods and squealed like a pig.. But scan as i might i get nothing ! ( sat finder removed , coaxe re-connected to Lnb )

Downloaded latest software & drivers and sat list from Twinhan but still get nothing

I have to select a sat before i scan have tried eurobird 1 , Astra ( it as in brackets (0192) after its name so i assume it means 19.2 east ) , Astra 1D (0230) , Astra 2A (0282) , Astra 3A (0235) and there are no other Astra options.

The original software from the cdrom, when installed and run said signal strenght 43 quality 32 , the updated software off Twinhan site shows nothing for either......

Im at a lost and fed up , all scans give nothing ..

I only have a simple basic compass , but ive pointed my dish in the general direction of everybody elses sky dishs ..and used Lidl sat finder till it did as above..
