Default Spend some money time, again.

I need British Eurosport, what options have I? Well, I desperately NEED Eurosport in the English Language.

I've got an old Pace MSS100 for analog International Eurosport (wont run for much longer) and a Comag SL55
model STB5518 Version 1.2.0-288055 dated 3.12.05 giving me Eurosport in the German language.
Problem is if I miss the Vuelta cycle race today on analog its repeated on British Eurosport tomorrow morning and I cant receive it.

With the Comag I'm getting fta on Astra2, is there a more up to date version I could download which would give me the British Eurosport, bear in mind I'm not technically minded?

Or would it be better to split the incoming signal at the LNB via a splitter to send a second cable thru the wall to the PC and to buy a pci card as you guys have written up below.

UK Eurosport will require a sky receiver and card. However, if you can clear the Eurosport channels on 19.2E or 13E then they both have an english language option.

ES is only open in compromised packages. The old way of getting it via its own package up the top end of 13E is no longer possible as its gone to via 2.5.

In the circumstances if the channel is that important to you then you should be subscribing to Sky.

Ok, thanks guys, signing for the expensive sky deal just for the occasional bike race is out of the question.

So may I have your comments on the other thing
Can I split the incoming signal by putting the splitter under the Universal LNB and take the new cable thru the wall to this PC. Or if this would reduce the signal to the downstairs TV can you suggest an alternative?

Second, I'd like to bring the Comag SL55 up to date, I see theres a ALL33.bin available.
Can I download this onto what I have or do I have to clear ALL10 ALL16 and ALL24(mod) and re download
these followed by ALL33 one after the other?

Hi dardruba.

You can't just split the coax I'm afraid

You'll need a new twin LNB (or if it's a Sky dish, a quad LNB as they don't seem to make twins anymore).

You can then run one cable to the STB and one to the PC without any problems, and both remain totally independent. Twin/quad LNBs are quite cheap, especially the Sky ones (Sky quad around £10).

That still won't help you descramble anything though, especially stuff on Astra 2.

Don't know about the Comag patches, so can't advise. I think it's highly unlikely they will open anything interesting at the moment anyway. Everything is pretty well sewn up at the moment. Only a few very small packages open.

Now if you had a dreambox or had access to one I could probably help you out temporarily dardruba.
