Default Activating a softcam.

Ok Ive sdafely navigated the first set of rapids on the River Dreambox.

Ive got 13E / 5 E / 19E set up, and now Ive seen D+ is back Im intruiged as to getting it running.

Ive got Gem 3.summat set up on the flash drive.

Ive gone to the blue panel and navigated to add on cams. Now which ones is the best at the moment to play with?? Ive heard a lot of talk about Newcam - Ive got 6.10 a and b.

I'm using Evocamd mainly at the moment. It has a great facility for TPS to the extent that the keychanges are undetectable. It's perfect. It's great to have D+ back too

Install it from the blue panel first, then:

Get Sin's key bundle from here:

_http://dream-zone.info/forum/showthread.php?p=12994#post12994

You'll need to join, but it's a great resource for Dreamboxers.

Now FTP all the stuff under the Evocamd keys subdirectory to var/keys, and scce to var/scce. If you're not sure, ask.

One you've done it, restart the CAM with the green button in the blue panel. If you know what I mean

STICK

Basically, some CAMs look for their keys in var/keys, and some in var/scce. The key bundles tend to have files for all the most popular CAMs.

Have a look here. It explains a lot

It was under the 7000 section but I've just moved it into the general section. It relates to the 7000 in particular, but the way the 7020 file structures are organised it actually works out the same way AFAIK.

Good result getting D+ m8. Well done!

Was that with Evo?

It's a little bit out of date now, but my write-up on Newcamd will give you a really good idea of how a softcam and it's filesystem works. It's written for real beginners, and assumes you know nothing.
