is this a similiar thing to the t-rex dragon cam.

opens certain encryptions.

i have a tm 1500ci, which has certain things embedded.

how would this be useful to me if i was to get one, will it open any fta channels that i don't currently get?

Yes, similar to Dragon, but older (well, the support stopped earlier).

Extra? Nope, it's old hat now. Your patch will do all that the MRev can.
