After a bit of advice here chaps :
![]() I can get my hands on one of these Parabol dishes (pictured) for a small sum. Only problem is that the lnb is knackered. Would a normal lnb (I.E one of the lidl ones) work with this dish in the centralised position or would i have to shell out loads of money for a proper lnb to suit the dish. If you can help me here it would be appreciated. ![]() nano

A regular 'universal' LNB should work just fine. A C120 fitting might be better than the standard 40mm collar fitting, but at 90cm it shouldn't be too critical. I would snap it up. It's certainly a bit different.
How much is a small sum if you don't mind me asking?

Are there any more? - I've got a spare LNB. Mind you, Paisley to Wales is quite a drive and I've got two dishes already on the front of the house, a white one, a grey mesh one - suppose a bright yellow one would be a talking point - the neighbours already think I'm mad!! (see "Trouble with two LNBs") which has now reached its very satisfactory conclusion.

When the guy gets in touch with me i'll get his e-mail address. The only down point us that you have to buy the new floor mount at £12.99 to get the dish for £5.
I think its still a bargain though. :![]() I'm guessing he has got quite a few of these dishes by the sound of it. I think some of them might be new ones, although he doesn't have any lnbs to fit the dish. I will ask him if he will sell the dishes to forum members outside of ebay, although i can't guarentee anything as i dont know how many (if any) he has left. Being Televes stuff i'm guessing that they are going to be fairly good quality. I've seen enough of them bolted to roofs all over Spain and the Ballerics. 50,000 Spaniards cant be wrong. ![]() Quote:
I think it was the squarial bolted to the shed that did it. :| I'm going to floor mount my new 90cm dish and use it for moving between the birds when i get bored. ![]() I want to try and play with Thor and Sirius first and then hopefully onto Atlantic bird 3 and Hispasat. If i get really board i might even bolt it to the side of the house just to annoy the wife. :roflmao: I'm sure a bright yellow dish will go down a treat with her.

Finally got the dish today. ![]() Unfortunately its seen better days, Its still in one piece and in perfect shape, but it has surface rush on the edges and rust streaks down the dish face from the old lnb holder and yes its bright orange. ![]() Tried using T-cut to get rid of the rust streaks but they are there to stay. > ![]() Plan B:- ![]() Take dish to friends work, Have it acid dipped to get all the old paint off it and to stablize the rusty bits, and then have it powder coated NHS Hospital bed white. Finished result is one very bright white dish that looks like new. What a result  :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Excellent
![]() Did you pay for the dip/powder coating? If so, how much did it cost? If not, do you have any idea how much it would cost? I'm sure a lot of folks would (should!) be interested in this and not just for their satellite dish!
