Default Sanyo Betamax VTC-5150. Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok guys i know this isn't satellite related but i'm hoping that someone will know the answer to this question.

My betamax VCR went tits up this morning and i need an almost non existant part to get it going again.

Anyone know where i can get a new reel motor for the above VCR. Without this reel motor i might aswell chuck it away, which is a pity as i only had it serviced about 2 months ago. :?

This unit is quite sentimental and also all my recordings are on Beta so if i could get hold of the part to repair it it would make my day.

Thanks for looking

nano

Where? I've been looking for an hour. Any clue to them like the item numbers.

Its not the Sanyo Denki reel motors your refering to is it? They wont fit unfortunately.

Cheers for looking on eBay for me. It is appreciated.

Two 5150's. Just put vtc-5150 into the search box and up pops two complete units. Not an ideal solution but if it gets you up and running again

Oh right. You were refering to 2 replacement VCRs, sorry i thought you were refering to the motor

To be honest i couldn't butcher a working unit & if i was going to replace the VCR i would go for a Sony Beta HI-FI unit as the sound is fantastic on them.

Unfortunately its time to move on and get a DVD recorder if i cant get a replacement part.

I think its time to start transfering everything over to DVD. I just hope it will hold together long enough to transfer everything.

The only problem that i have is that once the tape has been watched i cant rewind it.

Like i said though thanks for looking on ebay for me.

The guys selling their stuff on eBay aren't sentimental, so if yours means something to you, then carve those puppies up and don't think twice about it.

Blimey, you should open a shop!

Well, it'll certainly be fun having a play with it. Looks to be an Aston re-badge?

I'm going to on eBay.

Got to get rid of all the cr@p somehow. 8)

I managed to get hold of 10 Nokia lnbs for £5 plus postage the other day. God knows why i bought them, they're sod all use to me unless all my lnbs die in one go.

That takes the total upto 16 LNBs sitting in my shed. 1 platinum 0.2dB (cr@p) 1 Amstar Neosat 0.3dB ( No problems yet) 2x Lidl specials. (No idea) 10 Nokia 0.6dB lnbs. (will let you know) 1x Philips (very thin for Prime focus jobbie) and 1 spare Thomson Sky LNB (you can use your imagination)

Not sure how many lnbs i can shove on the 80cm dish before the weight rips it off the wall. :roflmao:

I'm hoping i can put one on my prime focus dish if i ever get it. the git i purchashed it of hasn't got in touch to tell me where it is. Bloody typical when you pay good money for something on eBay and then the guy disappears of the face of the earth. >

I'm hoping hes just gone on holiday or something. I getting the wife to ring him tomorrow while i'm at work.

Dont think he would appreciate a call at 4.30 in the morning.
