I had a bit of a barney at our local post office. They handed me a form to complete, telling me that nobody will do anything until at least 21 days have passed. The parcel seems to have left Paisley - wonder if it is knocking about the Macclesfield sorting office? I'll complete their form and we'll see what happens. If I had thought, it might have been cheaper to drive to Macclesfield (at 56 mpg in my diesel car!!) - it would certainly have been quicker!!

Here's the final example of complete imcompetence!! I sent off a claim form on 20th October and enquired of its progress on 10th November. Guess what - the bl**dy form didn't arrive at the claims office either.
Now, the claims office is in Glasgow, 8 miles from where I live, but the phone number, which, incidentally, is not free any more, connects you to Wakefield. So I then had to fax the form to Wakefield and the girl phoned me back to say that it had arrived and it wason her desk. Guess what? It will now take them 2 weeks to process the form, asnd, needless to say there is no sign of the analogue box which I sent on 20th September to Jontydog anywhere within Parcelforce. You could not make that up!!

Well, Jonty, I got a surprise today - no, not the return of the box but a cheque from Royal Mail for £32 to cover the loss. It more than covers it, as I bought the box and dish originally at a church jumble sale for £20 and the dish is now doing sterling service picking up 19.2E and 13E. Now maybe you'll get a surprise and the box will arrive sometime next year - then again, maybe not.

Nice one Diapason nice little profit so basically you got a satellite dish for minus £12. Very doubtful the box will arrive here m8. I have a mate who works for the Royal Mail at the sorting office in Macc and he has not come across it but is keeping his eye open. Hope my TM1000 doesn't suffer the same fate. Paid by paypal last Thursday but the payment hasn't even gone through yet won't clear til the 7th cos I buggered up using paypal.

Guess what - after all this time I can resurrect this thread.
![]() A card came through my door telling me that there was a parcel which was too big for the letter box and after 48 hours I could collect it. Guess what - remember the analogue box I sent to Jonty on 20th September 2006 ? Well it turned up back in Paisley on 20th OCtober 2007. At the time it cost £8.99 to send and after two attempts to get compensation because the Post Office lost the original claim form, I received £32 after about a month and an half. The reason they gave me this was that Jonty had not turned up to collect his parcel So, Jonty, the box is still available - what would you wish me to do with it now - perfectly willing to try again, as I still have address details, but thought this would give everyone a bit of a laugh - and don't worry about the postage as I'm still in profit!! It's amazing is it not that in the aftermath of a postal strike where everything has been delayed for the last week, a parcel from a year ago turns up back at its original departure point!!
