Default So where am I?

Please can anyone help me.
I've been searching the internet for hours trying to find my HASL
I live in Exeter and can't find my Height Above Sea Level anywhere.
I remember there used to be a house or street website where you could get allsorts of info on where you live like height, Contamination, flood channel distance and other stuff. But I can't find it now.

Any help please.

Thanks.

It has me stumped too. I can't believe it's so hard to find out something as basic as that!

Stupid Internet

Is there any particular reason you need to know?

Nah thats got me aswell. >

The only way your going to find that out this side of christmas is to find a very nice man in a BMW with factory fitted sat nav and ask him. The BMW satnav system also displays on screen the reletive hight above sea level aswell as position. 8)

A national grid map gives all the elevations. Never searched on line though.

have you tried GoogleEarth? I would have thought that would have that type of info from what I have heard but I have never used it.

Just found this on Google straight after the above post _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braintree,_Essex That says Braintree is 50m above sea level so I suppose you could put your town in.

Google Earth was the first thing I tried, and was amazed to find that it didn't tell you!

As Jim says, I'd use Ordinance Survey for now.

Yes, tried OS but they don't have anything online that helps. Just info on products available from them. The maps available online don't have contours.
Multimap used to have height info but not any more.
Need height for satscape and other sat software to calculate dish offset.

Thanks anyway.

Online OS maps do have contours, I've just checked.

Exeter seems to range from 25m to 45m.

You will need to punch in your postcode to get an accurate figure, but it's pointless as far as satellite angle calculations go. A few hundred meters either way will make no difference to your calculations or setup at all.

Hope this helps.
