Default Internal coax cable run

I've got a plumber about to take a new gas pipe from the fireplace in the dining room up a channel in the side of the chimney breast to a new gas boiler to be installed in the loft.

If I put a length of white plastic overflow pipe in that channel and have him plaster it in, can I run my sat coax and terr coax cables down that tube or is the close proximity to the copper gas pipe likely to affect the signal strength?
On both cables the length of the current cable run would be well shortened.

Sounds like a great idea, and the copper gas pipe should present no problems.

Blimey, i wish i would have though of doing something like that.

My house looks like the inside of a BT junction box. I networked it all up using CAT5 rather than wireless.

I dont like the security issues with wireless.

My Sat set up is starting to get that way aswell. :roflmao:

Indeed - go for it. Anything that gets the tangle of cables that spouts behind the typical satellite receiver hidden has got to be a good thing.

If theres the faintest chance you may want an extra dish up in the future run an extra sat coax cable inside the pipe now and coil a few metres of cable up inside the roof space
