Cool site and very helpfull.ive been thinking of getting shot of sky again ,we have the sky+and multiroom and its getting more costly with every bill.im on a deal for the next few months 18 quid untill jan.so im up for a new outfit .i was looking at a manhattan plaza 350 at 120 quid ,this seems like a good deal i thought i would take the hdd from the sky+and add it its a 120 gig drive that i put in the sky+about 2 years ago, but ive been reading up on the techmate 1500+ super and this seems like a better box,so im in two minds ,can anyone tell me if its possible to record from the techmate to my pc .also iwould like to get a cheap card to watch the footy and some movies to get my wife and kids quiet [as if ] i would be gratefull for any advice

Hi Dorage you should be able to connect the technomate to your pc. I have been given a Medion TV Tuner and my cable box is connected through it so you should be fine that way. I don't know too much about receivers as I don't have one yet (but father christmas will be here soon
) but I am sure one of the other friendly types would be able to give you a better idea on which box to get.And welcome to the forum by the way

If you love your PVR functions, want to be able to watch stuff other than Sky, and would like your STB connected to your PC to be able to transfer movies and connect to the internet etc, then the Dreambox is the way to go.
Not the easiest box to setup the very advanced functions, but you can start simple and enable more stuff as you go along. It's a bit pricey, but less than the price of a years Sky subscription! Have a read in our Dreambox section, but don't let it frighten you. It's pretty easy if you have some help, and there are plenty of people here that will provide that. The Technomate is good too if you're on a budget or don't want the extras. Welcome to the forum ![]()
