Default Multi LNB question for Bilboboggins!

Hi mate,
I've been looking at pictures of your set up in photogallery thread using Triax dish and Triax multibracket and was wondering whether your 3 LNB's used are also specially designed for that configuration.
The point I am trying to make is that I want to get same but with TWIN output LNB'S on a 80 cm Triax dish. Can I use any manufacturers LNB's? :?

Looks like Bilbo's on hols

The answer is yes, you can use any twins as long as they will physically fit alongside each other.

Which satellites do you want to get?

Thanks for reply Stick. Ideally I would like Hotbird, Astra 1 and 2- same set up as Bilbo as shown in Photo gallery thread- onlyfrom two receivers!(my son may want Sky sports in future as he reckons Art sport won't last the distance before they get well and truly exterminated by Murdoch and co! - by the way he is aware he would have to invest on a Sky box)

With the spacing of those birds, you won't need the slim 'alps' versions - just any old twin 'universal' LNBs will be OK. Everyone has an opinion on which makes are best, so for once I'll let you do the shopping

If you want to run something by us before you purchase then feel free, but Bilbo's setup is a great and well proven starting point.

Using twins as you've mentioned is by far the best way of running two receivers. It gives total independence from one another.

Hi Bilbo, nice to hear from you
Yes, as always Stick came up trumps with unreserved advice!
The only thing that I am still not quite sure is which dish to get for system.
Ideally I would like a mesh dish but from what I can gather Triax angle bracket you are using is only suitable for a Triax dish and I don't believe they make a mesh model. Is that right?

Yes, that's right. Triax are solid only.

If you specifically want a mesh dish, try the Gemini G70 or G90. They do solid and mesh versions, have a proper multi-LNB bracket, and can be had from Brymar amongst other places.
