Default Interesting note from JKF

I'm posting this purely as information for our members.

Whilst I have my own views on this, I'll let you make up your own minds. Those of you that know some of the history between the big-hitters in the scene may wince a little, whilst newcomers will get a flavour of what goes on.

He says (KM) that he is updating files...he is updating ****....his basic education is renaming a file and calling it his. Keymaker is not a file guy and never has been...none of the files that he rips the credits from is his and he could'nt write a file to save his life. However as he never tests the files that he posts on any sites he cannot verify they are safe. I have users coming to me daily (KM has ****** upn my equipement)..KM is only interested in money not the Hobby. Do not give him the satisfaction and download his files...he will eventually destroy your equipment.

Now talking of pretenders...we have developed many files and software for our members exclusively...and it makes me ashamed that such sites as Satdudez would download our files and rename them removing the credits....shame on on u Kink.....I thought better of u even though I have been banned by u over the last two years for no other reason than Toecutter running your show.

Now for Duolabs...he does'nt believe in supporting our members as he is too busy and thinks most of our members are idiots and illiterate.....well I got a message..u want our members to buy ur products but have'nt the curtesy to show our members any respect...shame on u!!!
That is all for now...come on guys...time u all wise up to what is going on with this game!

I agree, but I'm not going to pass comment on any individuals. I think they've all added tremendously to the scene in one way or another over the years, and the scene needs characters like them. It could do without some of the ego's, but hey - I guess it takes all sorts.

I have my own view on who the good guys are, and other folks must make their own minds up.

No one is bigger than the satellite hobby, and frankly if any one of them dropped dead of a heart attack tomorrow the world would go on pretty much unchanged.

I hope I never lose sight of what's important. Building a community, making friends and having fun. Learning and teaching. Oh, and a little satellite TV thrown in for good measure

Oh, and as for people who try to pass files off as their own? Shame on them

They have no place in our world.

I don't want to create a blacklist here, but if anyone has any proof of any satellite related sites running or distributing any kind of malware including viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware etc or running any other kind of tracking or probing software including port scanners, then let's hear about it. I don't just want gossip either, I want to see some evidence.

At the end of the day, it would be nice to be able to identify any such sites, but you really should be adequately protected against this kind of nefarious activity anyway. The Internet's a bad place as well as a useful one and if you don't batten down the security hatches then you WILL be shredded and infected before you know it.

Members should be particularly careful when visiting 'upload' sites, i.e. those where software can be uploaded by anyone who signs up. These sites are ALWAYS going to be littered with one or more of the above nasties.
